About the painting: The idea for this painting came from a birdwatching trip I took with my son and a long time friend. We were on Bolivar Flats by Galveston Texas and spotted the bird racing along the shore. The little bird was quick and fast among the waves and was hard for us to identify. It turned out to be a common shorebird; a Spotted Sandpiper. But it had us stumped for a few minutes and is a good memory to look back on. And of course I now have a painting as a reminder.
