Original, abstract, triptych acrylic paintings on 14" x 11" x 1/8" wood art panels mounted on 1-1/2" galley wrap wood (poplar) frame. This new, contemporary work was created by speckling thousands of paint specks on the board. I use a stiff bristle brush and manually sprinkle various colors to achieve effects and new color combination. Much like the CMYK of a printing press, I combine primary colors to create secondary colors. Since the surface is slightly raised with each color speck, the painting tends to change as a person views it from different angles. I call the technique "Specklism." Photographs cannot do justice to the unique texture and vitality of this technique, I guarantee once you see the painting in real life, you will be astounded with the impact it makes. Title: Field of Bluebonnets version 1 (triptych) With thousands of specks, I create a sultry sky with a filed of solid color to give a feeling of wide open space and distant hills to explore.
